Could an IR camera help you find out if you have pests in your home? It sure can! Even though it might not seem like the most obvious use for an IR camera, it definitely is possible. Depending on the type of pest you are dealing with, the method for finding it might differ. Large wildlife, such as rodents, can of course be spotted from their heat signature if they are hiding somewhere, but you can also find the entrance they have used to gain access to your home.
When it comes to large gatherings of insects, such as bees or termites, these might also be observed by an IR camera, but you can also detect conditions that are necessary for them to live, such as high moisture.
While an IR camera can’t detect every type of pest that might be hiding in your home, it can detect more than just a visual inspection.
