Floor heating is one of the more pleasant forms of heating. Stepping onto a warm floor on a cold morning will just make your day start off better. Usually, floor heating is installed underneath a tile floor. It consists of loops of water pipes that are specifically designed to radiate heat. This type of heat will radiate from the floor and stay warm a long time after the heat is turned off.
Of course, no system is trouble free, and if you have an issue with your heated floors, it might be tricky to figure out what is wrong. One option is to take the system out, but with a tiled floor on top of the heating elements, that would be a lot of work and very costly.
Another option is to do an optical reading on the floor when it is turned on. This will let you quickly spot any issues that you might have. You will be able to see if there is a location of the heating system that is cooler than it should be, or even if you have a leak somewhere in the system. That way you can focus on repairing just the area where the problem lies instead of turning it into a major project.
